Nestled inside the Cerro Prieto Volcano, just 18 miles southeast of Mexicali in Baja California, lies a stunning 200-meter-long geoglyph of a sacred vulture. Created as a tribute to the Cucapá Tribe, this impressive artwork symbolizes the vulture’s role as a teacher and connection between life and death. With wings stretching 190 meters, this geoglyph reflects the tribe’s spiritual beliefs, connecting the volcanic energy to their reverence for the Aura vulture, a symbol of death and renewal.
