The Guitar Forest of Argentina: A Stunning Aerial Tribute
In the fertile fields of Córdoba Province, Argentina, lies a breathtaking tribute to love that can only be fully appreciated from above: The Guitar Forest. This living masterpiece, shaped like a giant guitar, stretches over two-thirds of a mile (1 km) and is crafted from over 7,000 trees. Visible from Google Earth, the forest has become an international symbol of devotion and creativity.
A Labor of Love
The Guitar Forest was created by Pedro Martín Ureta, a farmer inspired by his late wife, Graciela Yraizoz. Graciela, a lover of music and art, had always dreamed of designing something special on their land. After her untimely passing in 1977, Pedro decided to honor her memory with a living tribute: a guitar, her favorite instrument.
Using cypress trees for the guitar’s body and eucalyptus trees to form the strings, Pedro and his family meticulously planned and planted this stunning design, ensuring every detail was precise. The result is a striking display of love and ingenuity, visible in vivid green and blue hues during the growing seasons.
Take a virtual journey to explore this extraordinary creation and the love story it represents.
